Jumby Bay's spa services are led by Su Hua, a trained massage therapist with a medical school background whose healing hands have been are in constant demand at the resort. Indeed, so highly prized is Hua that many returning guests book their holidays around her schedule and more than a few high-flying types have attempted to lure her from the island to New York and London. Thankfully, she enjoys the "energy" of Jumby Bay and cherishes the opportunity to help so many guests. Born in Shanghai, Hua has held the post of Masseuse and Acupuncture Specialist at Jumby Bay since 1992. the diminutive therapist believes massage is integral to maintaining health, and credits acupuncture with her own youthful looks. Hua applies both therapeutic massages to relax, as well as medical massage, "because it does everything from improving the body's circulation to loosening muscle tendons." At Jumby Bay cocktail parties, guests trade stories of miraculous recoveries under her hands, including treatments such as Chinese facials (acupuncture with a head and neck massage), reflexology and a menu of full body massages.
